Mylo's Beach shoot

Meet Mylo..... 

Mylo is a beach loving dog and there are no two ways about. Sure parks are fun and any walk is well appreciated but take him to the beach and he is a totally different dog. On the beach his 11 years melt away and he becomes a 6month old pup again.  

Mylo is the family dog of the Okeefe's. They are a classic Kiwi Family with a loverly home, in New Plymouth. Paul, Wendy and There Daughter Keely are all important members of the community and play a big part in their local life saving club which happens to be a 5 minuet walk from their house. On the evening before the shoot Paul did some damage to his knee while playing twilight tennis. so unfortunately they spent a lot of the Sunday in A+E waiting for X-rays and doctors. This opened up and opportunity for us though, it allowed us to take Mylo to the beach to see him in his element. 

After leaving the house with Mylo on his lead he knew which way he wanted to go and there was no stopping him. He didn't pull and he waited patiently on the pavement before crossing the road but there was a quiet but powerful force in him. He was getting to the beach! Once we got to the area of beach that is dog friendly we let him off the lead and that was it, we were in his domain now! 

After about an hour on the beach we learned two things. firstly that Mylo knew more people and dogs on the beach than we did! this is a very odd feeling, understanding that the animal your with has more friends than you do! Secondly even at 11 years old he would chase that stick until he collapsed. Obviously we didn't do that and stopped well before he wanted us too, but that was his good health and had nothing to do with the ache in my throwing arm!
